Description
The woodblock carving is of the street behind the house I grew up in. I love the skyline of Australia suburbia. I think it is very beautiful, even at its most mundane. The background to the black woodblock is a monoprint. Monoprints are unique, and you can’t recreate them. Even if you run the same one through twice, you get a completely different look, as the ink has faded and colours have run. They’re kind of like sunsets in that way! (I’ve watched a lot of sunsets over this street).
